Since Joe joined Team Grindtone in 1987 he has become known by many as one of the most innovative flytyers in the country. He gets requests every year to instruct and demonstrate his techniques & patterns both in Canada and the US. Every year Joe ties a number of custom fly orders for Grindstone's customers and provides some of the best producing Guides Choice patterns for the shop. 
Joe is also one of the professional guides of Grindstone and is on the river in the spring and fall each year fishing for steelhead and salmon. He is our resident Niagara Gorge steelhead fanatic catching this elusive species with his own variation of techniques that produces results when no one else seems to be in fish. Joe's clients end each trip with a wealth of ideas and new techniques to flyfish for steelhead or salmon including a healthy respect for the fight of these great fish.
Joe not only is a valued Grindstone Pro Staff member but a good friend as well. If you ever get a chance to see Joe at the bench, I know you will learn something from this gifted tyer.
