Introduction to Fly Tying: In this class you will learn the basics of fly tying and to tie at least six different flies from wooly buggers to caddis dries. John has been teaching this course for seven years and brings a wealth of tying knowledge to it. Grindstone offers this course once a month at a cost of $75.00, on a Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 7:30pm to 10:00pm. The dates are as follows:

Joe will be doing an assortment of courses for us this year, everything from the intermediate to courses for the very experienced. His expertise is known throughout North America from his flies being included in articles, books and giving tying demonstrations. He has been teaching with us for five years and has a genuine passion for fly tying.

Intermediate Fly Tying: This course is the natural extension of our introduction class, progressing to flies with more involved techniques and will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 7:30pm to 10:00pm at a cost of $75.00. The dates are as follows:

Soft Hackle Speys and Steelhead Wets: Creating flies from traditional materials like marabou, spey feathers and classic soft hackles. To be held on Saturday from 12:00 to 5:00pm at a cost of $75.00, on the following date:

Emergers and Nymphs: Some of Joe's more inventive proven patterns including Caddis flies, Stoneflies and Mayflies. These patterns will be a positive addition to your fly arsenal. To be held on Saturday from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at a cost of $45.00, on the following date:

Instructor: Rob Heal :::

Rob brings along the Maritime Canada tradition of fly tying to his passion for creating flies that entice fish to strike. Having learned to tie flies at a young age Rob's abilities are far beyond his age, his relaxed style of teaching makes his classes easy to follow and entertaining. Rob will be doing an array of courses for us this year for both salmon and trout.

Parachutes and Extended Bodies Cripples and Spinners: This class will teach you to tie some of Rob's innovative patterns for the those tough fish that have seen thousands of standard flies. These flies can make the difference between a great outing or a re-examination of your entire life!! To be held on Saturday from 12:00 to 5:00pm at a cost of $75.00, on the following dates.

Local Salmon and Steelhead Patterns: These are some of Rob's time tested patterns developed over the years. Bringing together the influence of his Atlantic Salmon tying skills and mating them to local styles and design to come up with a unique style of fly. To be held on Saturday from 12:00 to 4:00pm at a cost of $45.00, on the following date.
