The 20" Plus Club - 2003 : :
Each year on Grindstone's guide trips and travel trips some of our clientele are self awarded by their own achievements of landing a trout which measures 20" or greater. These individuals receive a pin commemorating their achievement and their name is engraved on a plaque at the shop to display their achievement for other anglers to witness. We started the 20"plus club in 1999 and have had a number of recipients of the pins for the past three years. The names will also be printed on our web site for all to witness and we will provide current photos when we have them available to display.

The 30" Plus Steelhead Club - 2003 : :
In the spring of 2002 we chose to add to our awards program. The 30" Steelhead club was formed and much to our surprise a number of anglers achieved the measurement goal set by Grindstones guides. The criteria for the club are the same as the 20" trout club. The individuals who qualify must be on a guided trip with our guides or on one of our destination hosted trips. These people who achieve this honor will as well be awarded with a commemorative pin, their name will also be engraved on a plaque at the shop and posted on our web-site with photos, if they are available for other anglers to witness.

Grindstones Conservation Effort : :
Each year local anglers and those from all over the world enjoy flyfishing the waters of Ontario. For the past 3 years now Grindstone and some of our suppliers have awarded these anglers for their efforts in garbage cleanup on our rivers and streams while they are out enjoying our beautiful rivers and the fishery we boast. To qualify, while out on your next flyfishing trip to our rivers take along a garbage bag and pick up the trash that collects in our wilderness areas. Take a photograph of the garbage collected in the bag, along with the individual collector. Put the name of the collector and the area you cleaned up on the back of the photo and drop it off at the shop. Each year in Dec. we will draw one photo and present that person with a flyrod or possibly another prize of great value for their efforts. So far our generous suppliers and Grindstone have Presented a Loomis flyrod, a Scott flyrod and a flyrod donated from Canada Pro to those who have been drawn. This year's prize once again comes from Loomis Canada and Grindstone, which consists of a 9'5wt Frontier flyrod
Thanks to all of you who have participated so far. Our streams and rivers are much cleaner because of your efforts. Everyone who visits our great country comments on how clean and beautiful it is. That gives us a lot of pride!
The photos of the past award winners will be posted on the Web-site and will give bragging rights to those
who received these rewards and hopefully will create a little envy for those who did not. Let's continue the effort, we all benefit greatly by it.
